Our naturopath and medical herbalist Alecia started of her career with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology, specifically neuroscience and child psychology, wanting to understand how the brain works and why we do the things we do. After suffering for many years with anorexia nervosa and bulimia she went on to become a qualified personal trainer and strength coach and has over 10 years in the fitness industry bringing a wealth of knowledge from both fitness and nutrition to add to your wellness plans.

After living with chronic pain and illness since her early 20’s with little help from conventional medicine, she embarked onto her journey into naturopathy and medical herbalism to try and heal her own body but what she discovered was her passion for helping people heal their bodies naturally and for the numerous pathways that were available for healing the body in natural medicine that conventional medicine could not provide.

Alecia specialises in women’s and children’s health, being a single mother of a young boy, she understands the challenges that comes with raising children and the many challenges and lack of options available to women when it comes to women’s health. She also specialises in gut health, mental health and nutrition but also has a wide range of knowledge in many areas and can help you empower yourself to take your own health back into your hands and work together with you, back to optimal health.

She believes the key to succeeding, is being given understanding, support and tools you need to succeed. Which is what The Zen Herbalist is all about - empowering you to create the changes you need through understanding and knowledge.
